✅ WordPress-Compatible License: All WordPress themes and plugins generated by this service are released under the GNU General Public License v2.0 or later (GPL-2.0+), in full compliance with the WordPress Foundation's licensing requirements. PHP code is GPL-2.0+; CSS and JavaScript assets may carry a separate compatible licence at the generator's discretion.

1. Definitions

"Service" means the WP Theme Generator website, plugin, and API located at wpthemegenerator.io.

"Generated Theme" means the WordPress theme ZIP file produced by the Service upon a paid purchase.

"Free Preview" means the in-browser preview functionality accessible without payment. No ZIP file is produced or delivered in Free Preview mode.

"Licensee" means the individual or entity that purchased a Generated Theme.

"WordPress" is a registered trademark of the WordPress Foundation. Use of the WordPress trademark is governed by the WordPress Foundation Trademark Policy.

2. Generated Theme Licence (GPL-2.0+)

In accordance with the WordPress Foundation's requirement that all themes and plugins that run within WordPress be licensed under the GPL (or a compatible licence), each Generated Theme is licensed to you under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later.

ℹ️ What GPL-2.0+ means for you: You are free to use, study, modify, and distribute the Generated Theme — including commercially — provided you comply with the GPL-2.0+ terms, including preserving copyright notices and making source code available when distributing.

A copy of the GPL-2.0 is available at gnu.org/licenses/gpl-2.0.html.

2.1 What the GPL licence grants

Use the Generated Theme on one or more WordPress installations
Modify the theme's PHP, CSS, and JavaScript for any purpose
Distribute modified or unmodified copies of the theme
Use the theme for commercial client projects
Sub-license the theme under GPL-2.0+ to your clients

2.2 GPL licence obligations

Preserve the copyright notice and GPL licence header in style.css
Provide the source code (or a written offer to provide it) when distributing the theme
Any derivative works you distribute must also be licensed under GPL-2.0+
Do not remove or alter the GPL licence notice from the theme files

3. Service Purchase & Single-Site Clause

While the Generated Theme itself is GPL-licensed (permitting redistribution), each purchase of the Service grants access to one theme generation. The purchase fee covers the generation service, not an exclusive or restricted licence to the output.

There is no technical restriction on using the Generated Theme on multiple WordPress installations, consistent with GPL freedoms. However, each distinct theme generation (unique name, layout, colors) requires a separate purchase of the Service.

4. Free Preview — No Licence Granted to a Theme File

The Free Preview mode allows you to explore all generator options and see a live in-browser preview. No theme ZIP file is generated or delivered in Free Preview mode. No licence to any downloadable theme is granted until a purchase is completed and the theme ZIP is delivered.

⚠️ Free Preview does not include: theme ZIP file download, email delivery of theme files, or the right to install a generated theme on a WordPress site. These are exclusively available to paying customers.

6. Disclaimer of Warranty

The Generated Theme is provided "as is" under the GPL-2.0+ licence, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. The Service is provided on a best-efforts basis.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, WP Theme Generator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the Service or any Generated Theme, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our aggregate liability to you for any claim relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific theme generation that gave rise to the claim.

8. WordPress Trademark Compliance

This Service is independent of and not endorsed by Automattic or the WordPress Foundation. "WordPress" is a registered trademark of the WordPress Foundation. We use the term "WordPress" solely to describe compatibility and integration, in accordance with the WordPress Trademark Policy.

Generated themes include a GPL-2.0+ licence header in style.css naming the theme and copyright holder (you, the purchaser) as required by WordPress coding standards.
